Aam Aadmi Party will contest state polls in six states in next two years, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday.
The party chief Arvind Kejriwal announced at its ninth national council meeting on Thursday that Aam Aadmi Party will contest state polls in six states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. AAP leaders are being given responsibilities of states; Atishi will be incharge of Gujarat, Raghav Chaddha will be responsible for Punjab and Delhi MLA Dinesh Mohania will take care of Uttarakhand.
In the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister also talked about the Red Fort breach and said that whoever is responsible for the chaos should face strict action. "What happened on January 26 is regrettable, and whichever leader or party is involved should face strict action," he said. AAP has also accused BJP of 'planting its stooge' to disrupt the tractor rally.
Kejriwal declared that AAP would boycott the President's address that is to be held tomorrow. At least 24 cases have been lodged against farmer leaders and have also been served a show-cause notice. Kejriwal noted that the events that occurred during the tractor rally would not end the movement against the three farm laws. "We have to together back the farmers. Whatever happened that day cannot end the agitation," he said.
"I urge party members to strengthen grassroots-level hold of the party across the country. The country is important for the people and AAP is the vehicle and we need to work to develop the party," Kejriwal said.
