Vinay Kumar Sinha elected as Bihar Assembly Speaker.
On Wednesday BJP MLA Vijal Kumar Sinha was elected as the speaker of the Bihar Assembly by majority votes. Sinha at the time of the elections got 126 votes against 114 votes polled for the RJD.
The first trial of strength between the ruling NDA and the opposition’s grand alliance in the newly formed Bihar Assembly was observed during the speaker’s elections. The NDA nominee Vinay Kumar Sinha had expressed confidence earlier, of having the requisite numbers for the desired post of the assembly speaker. Sinha said “The post of speaker is elected with a mutual understanding of ruling and opposition parties and it is based on numbers. Our alliance has projected me on the basis of seniority and we are fully confident about it”.
