The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense to very dense fog in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and some parts of Punjab and Haryana. At present, the visibility at IGI Airport is reported to be zero, according to the IMD.
IndiGo has stated that it is experiencing significant disruptions in flight schedules due to reduced visibility caused by the fog.
Air India also confirmed that dense fog is affecting flight operations in Delhi and northern India, urging passengers to check their flight status.
Similarly, SpiceJet advised passengers to stay updated on their flight schedules, mentioning that poor visibility in Delhi is impacting arrivals, departures, and connecting flights.
Delhi is expected to remain shrouded in fog until January 8, with light rainfall anticipated on January 6. As of Saturday morning, the temperature in Delhi stood at 10 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, a "cold day" is when the minimum temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius, and the highest or lowest temperature is at least 4.5 degrees below the average for the season.
