DISHTAVO LAUNCHED BY THE CHIEF MINISTER OF GOA
Goa Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, launched an E-learning platform named DISHTAVO (Digital Integrated System For Holistic Teaching and Virtual Orientations). It is a comprehensive programme which is initiated to create e-learning content in the video form of syllabus about colleges affiliated to Goa university.
According to Pramod Sawant, he said that Goa is the first state in the country to take the entire academic syllabus of higher education to an online platform and to offer online training for teachers and the lessons updated on DISHTAVO will be upgraded timely and can be watched in offline mode.
According to Prasad lolayenkar, Director of Higher education, said that "A team of 55 technical teachers were formed to create DISHTAVO " and is a complete house project by the Government of Goa and every video has gone through several processes of editing, vetting and recreating. Total of 3,500 videos are already created and 1,000 of them have been uploaded and shooting for video is taking place in Chowgule College under the University of Goa, Margao.
DISHTAVO is an initiative to cover the entire syllabus in the online course and the reference book related to the content will also be available on the video description, students will also be provided with glossary, transcript, and additional links, says CM.
The directorate is also planning to launch an "E-Mitra " This will be helpful for the students who face internet issues, they will provide an additional option for downloading the content for their friend and help the one who doesn't have any internet access and can grow education in remote areas.
