On Saturday, 25 January 2025, A major fire engulfed two parked vehicles in UP's Prayagraj. The incident occurred on the main road to Mahakumbh Mela. Locals panicked.
Smoke was seen rising from the cars. Several firefighters reached the spot and brought the flames under control. No casualties or injuries have been reported.
Speaking with news agency ANI, UP Fire officer Vishal Yadav said, "Devotees have come from far and have parked their vehicles. The fire broke out due to the extreme heat. Fire engines have reached the spot. The Ertiga car is completely burnt, and the Venue car is partially burnt. There were no casualties in the incident."
The fire broke out around 6:30 am, Yadav told news agency PTI. In response, six fire brigades and water tenders were dispatched to the scene, where the fire was swiftly brought under control, he added.
This incident took place a week after a fire broke out at the Mahakumbh venue, which, according to the police, was caused by a cylinder explosion.
Vivek Chaturvedi, the Additional District Magistrate for the Mahakumbh Mela, stated that the fire occurred on January 19 in the Gita Press camp. Around 70 to 80 huts and 10 tents were destroyed.
