Fire Destroys Houseboats in Srinagar's Dal Lake

A significant fire on Saturday resulted in the destruction of numerous houseboats in the popular tourist area of Dal Lake in Srinagar.

Despite no casualties, the incident led to the destruction of properties valued at crores of rupees.

The fire ignited near Ghat number 9 of Dal Lake around 5:15 am, according to an official from the fire and emergency services department as reported by PTI.

An official reported that a minimum of five houseboats and three huts suffered damage in the incident.

The fire has been successfully brought under control, and efforts are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
