Till January 1 to control air pollution…
On Saturday, 19 October 2024, a full ban is imposed by the government on all types of firecrackers till January 1, 2025, to control air pollution.
Delhi Pollution Control Committee issued a notice, “Delhi government has decided to impose a complete ban on manufacturing, storage, and selling (including online marketing) of all kinds of firecrackers up to January 1, 2025.”
The notice was shared by Environment Minister Gopal Rai on X. The minister emphasized that air pollution worsens during winter, and fireworks add fuel to the issue.
“Given the increasing pollution in winter, a ban has been imposed on the production, storage, sale, and use of firecrackers from today till January 1, 2025.
Delhi government issued all the instructions related to this action. Request for cooperation from all Delhiites, the minister posted on social media along with the image of the notice.
Delhi Minister Gopal Rai added, "The temperature will quickly reduce and as the temperature goes down, the suspended particles in the atmosphere will come down.
