On The 76^th Republic Day, the day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950.

India gained independence from colonial rule in 1947, but the Constitution of India did not come into effect until 26 January 1950.

With the adoption of the Constitution, India declared itself a sovereign, democratic, and republican state.

President Droupadi Murmu leads the country in celebrating the 76th Republic Day from Kartavya Path with a focus on 75 years of enactment of the Constitution and Jan Bhagidari.

This year, the celebrations were a unique blend of India's rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, and development.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the Chief Guest this year. Around 10,000 special guests were invited to witness the parade. It was the government's objective to increase 'Jan Bhagidari' in events of national importance.

These special guests play a major role in forming the 'Swarnim Bharat'. They include the best performers in various fields and those who have made the best use of the schemes of government.
