Flood-Like Situation In Rajasthan

Heavy rain is still continuous in the area…

In Rajasthan, heavy rain caused a flood-like situation in the city, affecting normal life. Water levels have risen to 5 to 6 feet in several parts of the city due to continuous rainfall over the past few days.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan was the worst hit among the north Indian states as the state reported 16 deaths over two days due to rain.  Two died on Saturday and 14 on Sunday. Karauli district recorded "exceptionally heavy rainfall" of 38 cm on Sunday.

Residents have expressed frustration, saying that neither political nor administrative representatives have visited to assess our current situation here. The flooding, especially in low-lying areas, has severely impacted elderly people and children.

"No relief has been provided to us so far. We have been in deep trouble due to the heavy rainfall in the last three days," a resident said.

The continuous rainfall has also damaged homes and belongings. Another resident lamented, "I have lost my belongings due to rainwater entering my home. The administration has not made any effort to save us."

Earlier on Sunday, the regional meteorological Centre in Jaipur mentioned that several parts of the state will receive heavy rain.

Schools in Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur were closed due to severe waterlogging after incessant rain crippled normalcy in those towns.
