On Monday, 09 December 2024, Fresh snowfall in the Gulmarg brought cheer to Kashmir's tourism there.
According to the latest report, Officials said the snowfall was going on when the last report was received. They said two to three inches of snow is still there.
The Kupwara and the Baramulla districts of north Kashmir also witnessed snowfall, the officials said.
The Met Office has forecast wet weather for the next 24 hours, with the possibility of light snowfall in parts of southern Kashmir. The snowfall gave the hopes of better winter tourism in Kashmir, which witnessed a relatively dry winter last year," said a travel agent, Shoaib Ahma.
Aijaz Ahmad, a tour operator, said they had plenty of inquiries from domestic and foreign tourists during the last week when the various areas received snow. "Today's snowfall in Gulmarg will surely boost tourist arrivals this winter," he added.
