The upcoming G-20 summit would be hosted by India in 2023
India will now host the Group of 20 Summit in 2023, a year later than previously predicted, party leaders announced on Sunday.
“We thank Saudi Arabia for hosting the successful Riyadh summit and its contribution to the G20 process. We look forward to our next meetings in Italy in 2021, Indonesia in 2022, India in 2023 and Brazil in 2024, ”said the announcement of G20 leaders Riyadh Summit, concluded at the conclusion of a two-day summit of the top 20 economies .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among many other leaders, took part in the conference. Sources say India is looking forward to moving forward with the G20 agenda by 2023 after the Italian and Indonesian leadership.
India will now be hosting the conference in 2023 instead of 2022, the source said, "The order for presidential exchanges is determined between the member states on the basis of consultation and consensus."
The focus of this year’s conference, which happened most likely, was the Covid-19 epidemic.
In the declaration, G20 leaders pledged to address the weaknesses identified by the crisis, take the necessary steps to regain power and work to ensure that future generations are much safer than we have ever been.
Leaders said they were taking urgent and special measures to address the Covid-19 epidemic and its health, social and economic impacts."We, the leaders of the G20, are meeting for the second time under the auspices of the President of Saudi Arabia. We stand by our belief that globalization, solidarity, and international cooperation are more needed today than ever to overcome today's power, to protect the planet, and to create new frontiers, ”states the proclamation."We are committed to leading the world in building a strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive society after the Covid-19 era," the statement further added.
Leaders also expressed support for the response to the Anti-money Laundering (AML) / Counter-terrorist Financing (CFT) policy outlined in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) paper in Covid-19.They also reaffirmed their support for the FATF, as a world-class organization to protect and combat money laundering, terrorist financing and increasing funding.
