A goods train experienced derailment near Kasara railway station in Maharashtra on Sunday, as reported by the Central Railways. This incident led to the diversion of routes for 20 express trains, while the movement of four other express trains was also impacted, according to the Central Railways.
Express mail traffic on the downline and middle line from Kasara to Igatpuri was impacted, as stated by the Central Railways. However, upline traffic between Igatpuri and Kasara remained operational. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Subsequently, the Central Railways provided an update, stating that the middle line had been restored through manual un-signalled movement operation. Notably, one of the non-diverted trains, 11401 CSMT Adilabad Nandigram Express, departed from Kasara at 10:28 pm.
The Central Railways reported that downline traffic from Kasara to Igatpuri was impacted, and ongoing efforts were focused on restoring the middle line to facilitate the movement of non-diverted trains. The railway authority expressed apologies to passengers for the inconvenience caused. Additionally, the Central Railways announced the cancellation of five trains scheduled for Monday, December 11.
The Central Railways clarified that Mumbai suburban train services remained unaffected despite the derailment. Additionally, the railway authority mentioned dispatching two accident relief trains from Kalyan and Igatpuri to the site of the incident.
