Gujarat Civic Polls: PM Modi expressed gratitude and people's faith in development

BJP retains power in six Gujarat's Municipal Corporations


The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, expressed his gratitude on the overwhelming support of people of Gujarat in municipal elections. BJP managed to retain power in six of Gujarat's municipal corporations which exhibits people's faith in the party and their ideology of development and progress. He said that for a party that has been ruling the state for around two decades this is an historic and 'very special' landmark in state's governance and is testament to trust people have on us. "The results are solidifying the undaunted faith people invested in politics of development and ideal governance," he said after the successful triumph.

The BJP fought to uphold power in six municipal corporations, claiming 409 out of 474 seats where results were declared in the evening. Extending his gratitude to the people of Gujarat he took to his twitter handle and said, "Thank You Gujarat for showing unwavering trust in good governance and development. The results of municipal corporation elections clearly indicate your expectations and faith on our deeds for better tomorrow." He also expressed the pride he feels while serving people of his homeland. PM Modi sees this as an opportunity to do good for the people he shares his origin with.

PM Modi also praised the Gujarat BJP workers who forwarded their ideology and vision of progress by reaching out to people and enlightening them. The Gujarat government's policies centred around upliftment and growth of people had shown significant impact on the state. "Today's win is really special and motivational. For a party, holding power in the state for over two decades, this win clearly shows people's feedback towards us and our work. It is pleasant to see wholehearted support from all sections of society and especially the contribution of youth towards BJP," he said.

The election was run on 576 seats in Ahmedabad and five other civic corporations on February 21. The counting started this morning and is underway. Congress commanded over 43 seats so far while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), made its astonishing debut with 18 seats until now. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel extended their gratitude to the voters and BJP workers.
