3,622 Heatstroke patients reported?
In Jaipur, the number of heatstroke patients in Rajasthan rose from 2,809 to 3,622 on Monday as the state continued to experience severe heatwave conditions. However, health officials confirmed that the death toll remained unchanged at one.
Phalodi claimed the title of the hottest location in the state on Monday, with a scorching temperature of 49.4 degrees Celsius, marking a significant deviation of 6.3 degrees above normal. Meanwhile, Jaipur experienced a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius, a slight increase of 0.8 degrees compared to Sunday.
Kota recorded a blistering maximum temperature of 48.2 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a minimum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius, which was 5 degrees higher than the normal range.
Nearly every city in the state reported temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius. Specific readings included Ajmer at 46.3 degrees Celsius, Bhilwara at 47.4, Bharatpur and Bikaner both at 48.2, Alwar at 46.2, Pilani at 48.5, Chittorgarh at 47, Barmer at 49.3, Jaisalmer at 48.7, Jodhpur at 47.4, Churu at 48, Sri Ganganagar at 48.3, and Dholpur at 48.1 degrees Celsius.
Meteorological Department officials have indicated that there will be no relief from the soaring temperatures on Tuesday in the state.
R.S. Sharma, Director of the India Meteorological Department in Jaipur, stated that there is a strong likelihood that the current intense heatwave conditions will persist for the next 2-3 days.
However, he mentioned that temperatures will begin to decrease starting from May 29 onwards. Additionally, he reassured that in the first week of June, the maximum temperature will return to normal levels.
