Three people were missing from the train after the fire incident....
Near the Elathur railway station three persons, including a one-year old child and a woman were found dead on the tracks, after sometime a man allegedly set fire on a co-passenger and injured eight others on board in an express train.
Late night on Sunday, bodies of a child and a woman were recovered from the track, a senior police officer said.
After the fire incident, the three were missing from the train on Sunday, he added.
When the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train reached the Korapuzha railway bridge around at 9:45 pm, after crossing Kozhikode city, an unidentified man poured a liquid on a co-passenger and set him on a fire which result in burning and injured at least eight persons, police said.
The unidentified man escaped later after the incident, while after passengers pulled the emergency chain the injured were bring to the hospital.
After the incident when the train reached Kannur, a few passengers complained that a woman and a child were missing.
"A man, who was injured, kept looking for a woman and a child. We found footwear and a mobile phone of that woman," a passenger told the media at Kannur.
Police suspect they fell off the train or attempted to de board after seeing the fire.
