Tragic End Follows Online Trolling Over Saree-Wearing Video
A social media influencer and Class 10 student in Ujjain has, according to the police, died by suicide by hanging himself with his mother's dupatta.
The incident occurred on November 21, with the minor alone at home, choosing to end his life by hanging himself with his mother's dupatta.
Kamal Singh Gehlot, Police Station in-charge, Nagjhiri, mentioned, "The student's mobile has been seized, and details will be obtained from Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. There is no solid basis established behind the suicide yet."
The boy shared numerous photos and videos online, showcasing himself in various styles, including wearing make-up, sarees, nail polish, and other traditional attire.
While the police haven't officially confirmed the motive behind the minor's death, reports indicate that he may have faced online trolling for cross-dressing.
In one of his recent Diwali posts, the minor wore a saree, and users in the comment section criticized and mocked him, possibly contributing to the distress he faced.
The police are investigating a potential connection between the online trolling and the tragic death of the boy.
"Yes, I have heard that the student used to apply nail polish," mentioned Gehlot.
The police official stated that video footage, comments, or any other evidence will be recovered, and further investigation will be conducted.
