Her marriage had ended in a Messy Public Divorce
Karisma took to Instagram Stories on Thursday, posting that she is in the mood to answer questions from fans. While most fan asked fun questions like her favourite food or her favourite colour, some asked question a bit personal in nature. As one fan asked the actor, if she would marry again, Karisma shared a GIF of a confused and perturbed looking person and wrote, 'Depends!' While Karisma has rarely spoken about her past, her marriage has ended in a messy public divorce.
In the AMA (ask me something), Karisma also answered some more fun questions. As a fan asked who she preferred - Ranbir or Ranveer, she wrote, "I love both." On being asked who her favourite person is, She collage of pictures of her parents Randhir Kapoor and Babita, her kids Samaira and Kiaan, sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Saif Ali Khan, and Saif Kareena's kids Taimur and Jehangir. "All my favourites," she wrote.
Karisma Kapoor is an Indian actress, who works in Hindi Films. She made her acting debut with the film Prem Qaidi in 1991. She is informally called as "Lolo" at her home. Karishma was in a relationship with her Jiger co - star Ajay Devgn from 1992 till they broke up in 1995. She got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan in 2002, but the engagement was called off after a few months. This ended their relationship of a few years and no reason was given for the break - up.
On 29 September 2003, she married industrialist Sanjay Kapur, the CEO of Sixt India, in a high profile Sikh wedding ceremony at her ancestral home, Krishna Raj Bunglow in Mumbai. The couple has a daughter Samaira, and a son Kiaan. In 2014, Karisma and Sanjay filed for Divorce by mutual consent. Their divorce was finalized in 2016. The divorce bought messy with each events leveling a number of allegations on one another.
In an Interview post the divorce, Karisma's father and actor Randhir Kapoor had revealed that he was never in favour of the match. "Everyone knows our - credentials. We are Kapoors. We don't need to run after anyone's money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives. Sanjay is a third class man. I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He has debauchery in his system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this."
Karisma took a step back from her career after her marriage. She has attempted comebacks a couple of times. The first came in 2012, with the film Dangerous Ishhq, it is a Hindi language supernatural thriller film, directed by Vikram Bhatt. And the second in 2020, with the ZEE5 show Mentalhood. It is an Indian Hindi drama web series produced by Rupali Guha under her streaming platform ZEE5 and ALT Balaji. It stars, Sanjay Suri, Shruti Seth, Shilpa Shukla, and Sandhya Mridul.
She will be next seen in Abhinay Deo's Brown. She recently took to her Instagram handle to share the good news. With the picture of a clapper board that had Brown written over it. She lurked in the background with dark and serious eyes. The post was captioned, "To a new beginnings, Brown".
Brown is based on the book City of Death by Abheek Barua. Karisma, who plays the lead as a detective in the project, said she is looking forward to essaying a "fiercely strong character in an intriguing story".
