Lawyer Raped Woman In Delhi Court Chamber

He threatened the woman as well…

A Delhi lawyer allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman inside his chamber at Tis Hazari Court on the pretext of giving her a job.

The case was registered at Sabji Mandi Police Station after the woman's relative filed a complaint on July 30.

In her complaint, the woman's aunt said her niece was looking for a job, and she gave her the contact details of the lawyer. After contacting the lawyer, the woman was asked to visit his chamber to show her educational qualification documents.

The accused told the woman that he would look for a job for her in the next few days.

After 10 days, the woman contacted the lawyer again and the two started exchanging texts, as mentioned in the complaint. The lawyer also allegedly said the woman that "everyone needs good friends in life".

He again called the woman to his chamber on July 27. After speaking for some time, the lawyer forced himself on her and also inserted his fingers in her private part, the woman said in the complaint.

As the woman started screaming, the lawyer threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about this. He gave her Rs. 1,500 and asked her to leave, the woman's complaint said.

After reaching home, the woman told everything to her aunt about the incident, who then approached the police. An investigation is going on, police said.
