10 Dead, 12 Injured in the incident…

On Friday, 06 December 2024, Police said, separate road crashes in UP's Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts. 10 people died, and nearly 12 got injured.

In Pilibhit, a car crashed into a tree in an area under the Neoria Police Station. A senior police officer said, 11 people were in the car, and five passengers died.

"Some people from Khatima had come here to attend a wedding. They were going back in a Maruti Ertiga car with 11 people onboard. The car suddenly lost control and crashed into a tree," Superintendent of Police Avinash Kumar Pandey told news agency PTI Videos.

"Doctors informed that three people were brought dead to the hospital while two succumbed during treatment with a total of five casualties," he said.

Pandey said four injured people were referred to a more advanced center for better treatment while two were discharged after primary aid.

"All possible medical care is being provided to the injured," he added.

In Chitrakoot, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said a Mahindra Bolero collided head-on with a truck, resulting in five deaths.

"The incident happened at 5.30 am in the Raipura Police Station area. The Bolero was coming from Prayagraj while the truck was from Raipura," Singh said.
