"Mamta Banerjee will say Jai Shree Ram before polls will end", says Amit Shah

Amit Shah in West Bengal

West Bengal is currently experiencing campaigning blues as the calendar is approaching assembly elections 2021. All parties have set their eyes on the Chief Minister's seat in West Bengal and won't leave any route unvisited for their win. This election will witness a fight between Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "development model" and Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee's "destruction model", Union Home Minister Amit Shah iterated in north Bengal's Cooch Behar today.  Shah is targeting 200 out of 294 seats.

Mr Shah highlighted the slogan of "Jai Shree Ram" which has gathered the limelight in Bengal since January. He questioned the audience, "If Jai Shree Ram is not chanted in India, will it reverberate in Pakistan? Is it sinful to raise or pray our Gods in India and respect our religion?" Mamta Banerjee feels infuriated with the slogan and bringing that up he said, "Although Mamta di gets angry by the slogan "Jai Shree Ram", she'll be enchanting the slogan before the end of polls."  In the programme attended by the PM in January, Mamta Banerjee was unhappy with "Jai Shree Ram slogans" which were shouted by the audience in back rows and she refused to continue after the interruptions. The PM broke his silence over the issue last week.

In a function at Haldia, PM Modi referred to the game of Football and said, "Bengal loves football and let me explain in that language. Trinamool Congress made many fouls repeatedly. Fouls of misgovernance, opposition attacks and money theft. People of Bengal are watching and will play Ram cards soon." Taunting Mamta Banerjee's government on the issue of development, Shah said that the Modi government works for "jan kalyan" (welfare of people) . Banerjee works for "bhatija kalyan", welfare of nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

"TMC thugs and goons won't be able to stall BJP's march towards victory. No 'Mai ka laal' can stop us now," Mr Shah added. The programme scheduled for Thakurnagar was cancelled. "My programme was cancelled, Mamta di became really happy. But we have ample of time till April and will keep coming again and again," was parting note of Mr Shah.
