For the next Delhi CM buzz…
On Monday, 16 September 2024, AAP leader Manish Sisodia will visit CM Kejriwal's residence during discussions on the name of the next Delhi CM.
On Sunday, this will be the first meeting between the two leaders following Kejriwal's announcement that he will resign from the CM post.
Arvind Kejriwal was released from the Tihar Jail on Friday after the SC granted him bail in the liquor policy case and announced his decision in his first address to AAP leaders and workers.
He had also said that a party meeting would be held within the next two days to decide on his replacement.
"I am going to resign from the Chief Minister's position after two days. I will not sit in the Chief Minister's chair until the people give their verdict... I will go to every house and street and not sit in the Chief Minister's chair till I get a verdict from the people," he said.
In a post on X on Sunday, Sisodia said that he would only return as the Deputy CM of Delhi if the public "approves his honesty".
"I worked honestly, but attempts were made to prove me dishonest by making false allegations against me. I was kept in jail for 17 months on false charges.
After two years of legal process, even the country's top court has told me to go and do my work. But, Right now I will not sit in the chair of Deputy Chief Minister-Education Minister.
