It occurs on the 14th day of the Vaishakha month, falling between April and May in the Gregorian calendar.

The festival entails various rituals, and puja timings, and holds significant historical and cultural importance. Celebrants often share heartfelt wishes with loved ones on this auspicious occasion.

Narasimha Jayanti is scheduled for May 21 this year. As per Drik Panchang, the evening puja will commence at 4:24 pm and conclude at 7:09 pm. The Chaturdashi Tithi begins at 5:39 pm on May 21 and ends at 6:47 pm on May 22.

On Narasimha Jayanti, devotees typically rise early and perform a purifying bath before starting the puja rituals.

They place the idol of Lord Narasimha on a wooden plank and bathe it in Panchamrit. The idol is then adorned with jewellery, and a ghee lamp is lit nearby.

During the puja, devotees chant mantras dedicated to Lord Narasimha and offer flowers, an assortment of five fruits, dry fruits, and homemade sweets like kheer or halwa. It is also customary to visit temples to seek blessings from Lord Vishnu on this sacred day.

In Hindu mythology, Lord Narasimha is revered as the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Born to the sage Kashyapa and his wife Diti, Narasimha is depicted with a half-man, half-lion form, symbolizing the harmony of power and wisdom.

His earthly manifestation was to safeguard his devotees and vanquish malevolent forces.

Narasimha Jayanti commemorates the birth of Lord Narasimha, signifying the triumph of righteousness over malevolence and the victory of faith over adversity.

Devotees believe that worshipping Narasimha on this occasion can bestow protection, prosperity, and divine blessings upon them.
