Urdu Authors Share Creative Journeys at Fergusson College Event…

Pune/Delhi: Under the aegis of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi, the "Mera Takhleeqee Safar: Musannifeen Se Mulaqaat (My Creative Journey: Meeting with Writers)" program was held at the Pune Book Festival, Fergusson College, Pune. Writers such as Dr. Sadiqa Nawab Sahar, Noorul Hasnain, Qazi Mushtaq Ahmed, and Rafiq Jafar participated in the event, sharing detailed accounts of their creative journeys.

Sahitya Akademi award-winning fiction writer Dr. Sadiqa Nawab Sahar remarked that one continually explores various talents and interests, with hard work and destiny paving the way forward. Speaking about the program, she said such festivals add beauty and vibrancy to life and serve as a positive and engaging medium to connect all generations to books in today’s mobile-driven era.

Renowned storyteller Noorul Hasnain stated, "My creative journey has not been easy, but the advantage of such programs is that they provide us with an opportunity for self-reflection and help us understand the kind of literature readers appreciate. It is crucial to discuss the challenges of life."

Prominent writer and playwright Kazi Mushtaque Ahmed emphasized that Urdu has always fostered collaboration with other languages, creating a harmonious landscape. He lauded the exceptional work of the National Urdu Council in advancing this mission and extended his congratulations to its members. "Literature is life, and its soul lies in creative writing. By presenting stories, novels, and plays in predominantly non-Urdu settings, this campaign can become even more impactful," he said.

Famed poet and writer Rafiq Jafar appreciated the services of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, stating that since Dr. Shams Equbal assumed leadership, the council has become more active with innovative initiatives. Literary and cultural activities have gained momentum, and Shams Iqbal’s editorial writings reflect the council's objectives and plans.

Council member Irfan Ali Peerzade, assistant editor Dr. Abdul Bari, Shah Taj Pune, Dr. Azeem Rahi, Masroor Tamanna, and a large audience attended the event.
