NEET UG 2024: 67 Students Achieve Rank 1 in Record Result

Higher Cut-off Marks Observed for All Categories?


The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for NEET UG 2024 today. This year, the cutoff for general and general-PH category candidates has increased from 720-137 to 720-164 compared to last year.

 

A record 67 students share the top spot with an impressive percentile score of 99.997129.

 

While 67 students achieved rank 1 this year, AIIMS New Delhi had only 48 open-category seats available in 2023.

 

The institute had a total of 132 seats, distributed as follows: three seats were reserved for open-PWD category candidates, 11 for General-EWS, 32 for OBC, 18 for SC, and nine for ST. Additionally, there was one seat each for SC-PwD and Gen-EWS PwD, and two seats were reserved for OBC-PwD.

 

The NEET UG 2024 cutoff for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and other backward class candidates has risen to 163-129 from 136-107 last year. Likewise, for SC, ST, and OBC-PH candidates, the cutoff has increased from 120-107 to 145-129 this year.

 

For medical aspirants in the general category, the NEET cutoff for MBBS and BDS is set at the 50th percentile, while for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it stands at the 40th percentile.

 

The NTA establishes NEET UG percentiles based on the highest marks achieved in the all-India common merit list.

 

Out of the 24,06,079 students who registered for the medical entrance test this year, 23,33,297 appeared.

 

Among them, 13,16,268 students successfully qualified. According to data from the NTA, out of the qualified students, 5,47,036 are male, 7,69,222 are female, and 10 are transgender individuals.
