Railways Bill to be discussed…
On Thursday, 05 December 2024, Today is the ninth day of the Winter Session of Parliament. The session will begin with a discussion on the Railways Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha.
The Lower House debated the Bill, with Opposition MPs saying it would negatively impact railway autonomy and increase the potential for privatization.
The Opposition will raise the issue of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being stopped from visiting the violence-hit Sambhal in UP to meet the families of those killed in the November 24 violence.
The Lok Sabha will ask questions on developing new airports, privatizing airports, national highways in HP, and the development of Sabarimala airport, among other things.
Mr. Shah is scheduled to table the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the Lok Sabha. The Bill seeks to amend the 2005 Disaster Management Act, clarifying roles and empowering authorities at the national and state levels.
The winter session of Parliament began on November 25 and will continue till December 20.
