Patna farmers demand for repeal of farm laws by marching towards the Raj Bhawan.
On Tuesday in Patna, Bihar a group of farmers marched towards the Raj Bhawan or Governor’s residence demanding the scrapping of the three contagious farm laws introduced by the central government earlier this year as the farmers from various parts of the country are joining the massive demonstrations taking place. The marching of the farmers started from the famous Gandhi Maidan in Patna and the protesters were blocked by the police at Dak Bungalow Chowk with batons and barricades which later resulted in a clash. Various members of the left parties and the farm unions led the protestors toward the Raj Bhawan.
In the highways and border of Delhi tens of thousands of farmers are camping in their tractor trolleys and tents for over a month now as today is day 34 of the ongoing farmers protest in Delhi as the protesting farmers are demanding a complete roll back of the farm laws by the center. The farmers fear that the new farm laws will make the corporates more powerful to dominate the farming sector and will take away the income of the farmers.
The center says that the new farm laws will reform the farming sector as the farmers will now be able to sell their produces anywhere in the country and this will lead to direct exit of the middlemen from the APMC or mandi systems and the potential bulk buyers enterprises like WalMart, Reliance and Adani will be linked directly with the farmers.
