Bahrain announced on Friday that it had approved the urgent use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus, becoming the second country after Britain to use the drug.

"The approval of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine will add even more value to the national response to Covid-19," said Mariam al-Jalahma, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority, according to a statement from the official Bahrain News Agency (BNA).Manama did not specify when the vaccine would be launched by US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and its German counterpart BioNTech.Britain on Wednesday said it had approved the Covid-19 vaccine for normal use, with plans to launch it next week.
