Congress Leaders Meets Congress Chief Today To Discuss Farmers Issue
The Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today will be meeting top leaders of the congress party to discuss the ongoing farmers’ agitation, especially in the wake of deadlock even after multiple rounds of dialogues between the government and the farmers failed to find a solution. The meeting will be conducted virtually where via video conference and she will connect with party general secretaries and in-charges to plan and strategize how to back the thousands of farmers agitating in the borders of Delhi demanding the union to repeal the 3 contagious farm laws passed by the Parliament in September 2020.
The support of the national party was already declared for the agitation and earlier chief Sonia Gandhi had labeled PM Modi’s government as ‘egoistic’ that an independent India had ever seen and demanded to withdraw the news law and perform its ‘Raj Dharma.’ The Congress will now go aggressive against the central government and will hit the ground. Priyanka Gandhi the General Secretary of the Congress party said on Friday that little short of repealing of the three laws by the center was tolerable.
The talks between the farmers union leaders failed to break the week long deadlock on Friday and the next round of talks will now be held on January 15. The farmers protesting at the borders will take out a tractor rally on Republic Day to enter the national capital.
