Caught taking selfie during duty, Lucknow teacher faces suspension?
A polling officer, who was serving as an assistant teacher in Hamirpur during the Lok Sabha elections, has been suspended for taking a selfie inside the polling booth.
Ashish Kumar Arya, an assistant teacher at Girls Primary School, Umri in the Muskara Development Block of Hamirpur district, was assigned as Polling Officer (First) at polling station 112 of Shri Vidya Mandir Inter College, Hamirpur, as stated by Uttar Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, Navdeep Rinwa, in a statement on Tuesday.
Rinwa stated that Arya allegedly took selfies with his mobile phone and captured photographs of voters on the day of voting, contravening the Election Commission's instructions.
He mentioned that due to this "serious violation," the District Basic Education Officer of Hamirpur suspended Arya and reassigned him to the Block resource center in Muskara.
The statement mentioned that the Block Education Officer headquarters has been designated as the investigating officer to probe the matter.
The Chief Electoral Officer has cautioned all polling personnel to diligently adhere to the instructions of the commission during the election process and refrain from engaging in any form of inappropriate activities, as per the statement.
