After the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat on tuesday, Tirath Singh Rawat nominated as new C.M.
Tirath Singh Rawat, a BJP MP and chief of the party in Uttarakhand from 2013-15 has been picked up as the Chief Minister of the state. His name was chosen over important names including Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Uttarakhand Minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
The ousted C.M, Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned after allegations of misgovernance and high handed style of functioning. On being asked about the reason for this change, a visibly miffed Rawat responded, "Go to Delhi to find out why,".
Meanwhile the newly elected C.M. Tirath Singh Rawat said,"I was Sangh pracharak and a minister under the leadership of Trivendra Singh Rawat. I am grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the national president. I had never imagined this day,".
The swearing in ceremony is expected to be held today afternoon at 4 p.m.
