Woman Jumps to Death in Gurugram

After Twin Sister's Suicide


On Monday, police reported that a 27-year-old woman allegedly jumped to her death from the 14th floor of a residential building in Sector-65.

 

The police indicated that the woman had been battling depression for the past few years, following the alleged suicide of her twin sister in 2020. They mentioned that she was receiving treatment for her condition.

 

Santosh Kumar, the Station House Officer of Sector 65 police station, revealed that the woman resided alone in the apartment. "The incident occurred on Sunday evening, and the security guards notified the police control room, prompting a response team to be dispatched to the scene. The woman was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival," he stated.

 

Kumar mentioned that the family members disclosed that the deceased had been undergoing treatment for the past four years since the loss of her younger sister.

 

Kumar added, "No suicide note was found at the scene, and family members did not suspect any foul play. The body was released to the family following a post-mortem examination conducted on Monday."

 

Investigators stated that inquest proceedings had been initiated under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), pertaining to death by suicide.
