World Hypertension Day 2023

A proper diet lowers blood pressure naturally&

On Wednesday, 17 May 2023, World Hypertension Day is observed every year to raise awareness about high blood pressure.

This day was declared hypertension day by the World Hypertension League in 2005 and has been acknowledged across the globe.

Hypertension means when the blood pressure is high enough for it to cause heart-related disorders. It may also be considered hypertension if the high blood pressure is for a longer period of time.

Hypertension causes discomfort, shortness of breath, headaches, and even nosebleeds. Management of hypertension is hard as it may further cause other disorders.

What a hypertension patient eats plays a major role in blood pressure.

Studies show certain food may lower or increase our blood pressure.

Various superfoods, in particular, can be very easy to add to your diet and may be really helpful in maintaining your blood pressure.

Fatty fish such as salmon is a great source of omega-3 fats which have thousands of benefits for our hearts.

These fats are considered healthy fats and help in reducing blood pressure.

Seeds are also great superfoods. They are extremely versatile and can be added to almost any food without altering their taste.

Green tea is another important food known to reduce blood pressure. It is rich in antioxidants. Drinking 2-3 cups of green tea may be ideal.

Eggs are one of the most popular superfoods. Various studies have found egg whites to be very helpful in lowering blood pressure.

A protein-rich food in itself helps our heart health greatly.
