Recruitment Scam came into light in year 2012
After the inquiry, 12 Delhi Police constables have been dismissed from service for submitting their fake driving licences in 2007 recruitment for the constable (drivers) post.
India Today gave the information that, a newspaper advertisement for recruitment of Delhi Police constable (drivers) was printed in 2007. More than 600 drivers were recruited in that year.
The recruitment scam came into light in 2012 when a person named Sultan Singh applied for the post of constable (driver). Where his licence was being verified by the police and was found that it was not issued by any concerned authority in Mathura. Sultan Singh then again applied for the same post in 2007 also.
Based on their suspicion, the Delhi Police launched an investigation and started verifying the driving licences of all other candidates who took positions in 2007. The probe was handed over to the crime branch for further investigation.
The respective papers were sent to the Mathura Regional Transport Office for further verification and there It was found that some kind of fraud had taken place during the 2007 recruitment process.
Moving on in this, 12 constables have been dismissed from their respective service and an FIR has been registered against them at Model Town police station in Delhi.
According to the sources, rest other Delhi Police constables are also under the observation at present.
