Hailstorms in Delhi

Hailstorm with wind up to 50km is predicted...

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), prediction of 17 January 2023, the northwest part of India including Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan will face a light and moderate hailstorm along with the wind due to a weather disturbance in western India from January 21 to January 25.

In a statement shared by the department on Tuesday, they said that under the influence, rainfall/snowfall is likely to hit over the western Himalayan Region in the early hours of 21 January and will continue till 25 January with a peak activity on January 23 and 24.

The IMD officers said, “Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu will likely to have light hailstorms along with wind gusting up to 50 km per hour over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi has not recorded any rainfall of this winter so far.
