Heavy Rain In Delhi-NCR

More showers in a day…

On Tuesday morning, 13 August 2024, several areas in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received light to moderate rain.

There is too much waterlogging in some locations.

A thick blanket of clouds also covered the city and the nearby areas, reducing visibility in certain regions.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Delhi and the NCR may witness more rain in the day with the maximum temperature remaining at 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 26 degrees Celsius.

As the continuing rainy weather, the weather body has also issued an advisory urging people in Delhi and adjoining areas to remain indoors and avoid unwanted travel.

"Seeking safe shelter and avoiding tree cover are recommended to mitigate risks," the advisory said.

Earlier on Monday, Delhi faced light rain with the maximum temperature recorded at 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum settled at 25 degrees Celsius.

The city's air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 53 this morning, placing it in the "satisfactory" category. The AQI scale ranges from "good" (0-50) to "severe" (401-500), with "satisfactory" (51-100) indicating that air quality poses little or no risk.

As per the IMD, Delhi-NCR is expected to witness generally cloudy skies accompanied by light to moderate rain, thundershowers, and occasional lightening in the coming week.

At least 18 people have died across Delhi-NCR in the last two months due to waterlogging and other reasons.

As many as 11 people died due to drowning in waterlogged regions, while seven were electrocuted, data depicted.
