Being an MBBS student, and having good work experience, how did it prepare you for entrepreneurship?

Medical studies taught me discipline, problem-solving, and resilience, which are critical in business. My work experience enhanced my ability to manage people, analyze situations, and maintain high standards—all of which are essential for running a bakery and cafe.

What motivated you to take the leap and start your own business?

The motivation came from a desire for independence and creating something meaningful. Seeing how much joy good food brings to people fueled my decision to turn my passion into a livelihood.

How did you conduct market research and analyze the competition before starting your bakery?

I studied the local market trends, visited popular bakeries, and observed customer preferences. Online reviews and feedback gave me insights into what people valued most, such as quality, ambiance, and innovative products. This helped shape ‘The Bloom Bakers.’

What was your initial business plan, and how has it evolved?

Initially, the plan was to focus on classic baked goods with a modern twist. Over time, we diversified our menu by adding grilled items and catering to niche demands, such as custom cakes and seasonal offerings. Expansion, like the second branch, became part of our growth strategy.

What were the biggest challenges you faced during the setup phase?

Managing resources, sourcing quality ingredients, and finding the right location were significant hurdles. Balancing my studies with business responsibilities also required careful time management.

What systems and processes have you implemented to ensure consistency and quality in your products?

Standardized recipes, regular staff training, and quality control measures are key. We also invest in top-notch equipment and source ingredients from trusted suppliers to maintain product excellence.

How do you handle customer feedback and complaints?

We take customer feedback seriously, addressing complaints promptly and ensuring the issue is resolved. It’s a learning opportunity that helps us improve and build trust with our customers.

How do you market your bakery and its products (e.g., social media, advertising, events)?

Social media plays a significant role in showcasing our offerings, sharing updates, and engaging with customers. We also organize tasting events and collaborate with local influencers to increase visibility.

What are your plans for expanding your customer base and increasing sales?

We plan to introduce loyalty programs, expand our online presence, and explore catering for corporate events and parties. Enhancing delivery options and collaborating with food apps are also on our agenda.
