Woman Arrested in Jaipur for Multiple False Rape Complaints

Allegations Used for Extortion, Says Police?


A woman was arrested by the Jaipur Police for allegedly filing over a dozen rape cases at various police stations to extort money from a lawyer by blackmailing him with these accusations.

 

A police team arrested the woman in connection with the matter, and she was sent to judicial custody, according to Amit Kumar, DCP (Jaipur West).

 

Speaking to India Today TV, Kumar stated that the person had filed a complaint against the woman, leading to the registration of a case under multiple IPC sections, including 384 (extortion), and the initiation of a probe.

 

He said that during the investigation, the police recovered evidence related to the transaction of money, after which she was arrested.

 

"She has been sent to judicial custody, and we are further investigating the case," said DCP Kumar.

 

According to the police, the woman has previously filed 13 rape cases against different individuals at various police stations in Jaipur, Kota, and Gurugram.

 

She also filed a case of wrongful restraint and a case of sexual assault in Jaipur.

 

"All these cases are currently at different stages of investigation. In some cases, the chargesheet has been presented, while a Final Report (FR) has been submitted in others, and some are still under investigation," an official said while speaking to the media.

 

The Jaipur Police reiterated that they have compiled all the FIRs filed by the woman thus far and are currently investigating them.

 

"A woman has been arrested, and all cases filed by her are being probed," stated a senior official.
